Hello, no point in introductions, as this is simply a memo. Nevermind that it is written on the good parchment and contains a wealth of pictures – as that has much to do with a certain “person” devouring an entire carton of memo paper, and the desk which contained it.
L’Oracle du Mort: One of many amazing clockwork pieces by Thomas Kuntz to be featured here in the Archive. Thomas Kuntz, a professional artist for over 20 years, began as a sculptor of Commercial Toys, but later gained notoriety circa ’89-98 as a pioneer in the making of model kits based on old silent films like Nosferatu, The Man Who Laughs, Vampira, and others. After a period of time Kuntz found that merely sculpting his dark creations was not nearly enough for him, and that he wanted to give life to his creations through mechanical, perhaps supernatural means… This change in method resulted in some of the darkest and most interesting automations known to man, and not nearly as many fatalities and disappearances as may be rumored. You may have seen Thomas’ twisted creations in many places, though you may not have been aware of the crafter behind them, or the astounding degrees of meticulous craftsmanship responsible for their being. Myke Amend has spent the last day moving his store into the Archive’s Reliquiary, as his store sometime this coming week, for an uncertain amount of time will have a bad fail infestation as he seeks to redesign and re-arrange his domain. There are many, many new items here now, some even that he had forgotten to put in his regular store, some new exclusives to us. There will also be many additions in the coming days by Bethalynne Bajema Myke will also be putting up many many more originals here in the Archive over the next day or two as well, for those who like to collect original pieces – aside from what is already here, there will be a number of additional engravings of all sizes and themes, as well as some small scuptures and perhaps even some wood and brass works. Travel Log, 27th of June, 2008, or 1908, I can never tell anymore. Mechanical Insects in the Forest . . The trip to Chicago regrettably had to be canceled because of gremlins that had taken up a home under the hood of the auto. We could almost hear the ghastly little things chewing metal just outside our window as we attempted to sleep that night. Transmission fluid and new fan belts are easy to obtain, but gremlin killer in an easy to use spray can there is not. We had to take the Archive’s auto to a proper witch doctor to first remove the gremlins, and then take the poor spent vehicle to a proper mechanic to have the damage repaired. Generally speaking in this day and age the average mechanic does not lift an auto’s hood and find himself greeted by large bite marks in the machinery. I was greeted by the most extraordinary collage creations this morning, with a small note trying to convince me the artist responsible for them had come into being by a crazy night of elderberry wine and a strange rendezvous between a gentleman octopus and a charming selkie. Luckily this biography was included in with the artwork to dispel this rumor: “There aren’t any castles in the suburbs of Delaware and there aren’t any haunted mansions with gloomy mansard roofs, either, and because that fact was nearly too tragic for me to bear as a child, Winona Cookie came to comfort me. “Appearing in a shower of cookie crumbs one rainy thunderstruck afternoon, she has been my lifetime antidote to boredom. Bethalynne Bajema was brought to this world some years past, spring-time-ish, in a dark ceremony using stolen languages since unspoken by man. From an early age she was taught sewing, story-telling, and unconventional warfare… all this in preparation of her foretold future as Dread-Overlord-And-Tailor. What prophecy could not see was the impact her older brother’s comic collection would have on her, and the siren songs of India ink, the arts, and the written word.
