Letter From the Curator

Our goal is as much to educate, as it is to provide both entertainment and leisure, through the works of artists and authors of times gone by, augmented by the works of recent and living anachronists.

Our fine collection boasts everything from the most foolish humor, to the greatest wisdom of the aeons, granted us by the founders of our great institution.

This Miskatonic Archive is certainly anything but a be-all-end-all authority on any of the many loosely-related cultures or genres that frequent this institution. We do however wish to provide a rather assorted selection of texts and images to inspire those of any walk of life, and especially those who walk on the more mysterious paths.

Ours is a collection of those literary works and artistic works we deem worth compiling, with an occasional review of talking pictures worth note, and perhaps a mention of recordings worth listening to.

Occasionally we might get our hands on such pictures and recordings, in which case you are welcome to borrow them – Just be sure to return them in a timely fashion, in the order they were received.

Though we are more than happy to point you in the right direction through our growing directory of purveyors, this archive contains no social pamphlets, clothing catalogues, or fashion magazines.

We choose not to obscure your path with articles and entries on what to wear, where to be, or who is who.

This is not a place to learn how to look a part

– it is a place to play a part

– or better yet, to be.
